We all come across the "server-related terms'' like server fail, server down, server busy, no server etc, so what is the server. In the world of internet we are surrounded by data from all sides, so we need someone who can serve these data's to us, a person cannot do it, we need some machines, where comes the play of servers.

Description Of Server -

Just try to think about the article you are reading right now, that how it is reaching your device's screen, it is stored in a data centre somewhere in the world, as the article is already saved by me and readers are consuming the information.

If you simple understand the word server, it is the object which "serves", it can be program, it can be a specialised software or hardware, and it is quite crucial. Here, we do not only talk about a particular form of data. If you open a website of any kind, its data is completely stored somewhere. These things comes out in the form of server. It can run on cell phones, PC's or any form of data surfing device.

There can also be a dedicated server, where there is a specialised hardware or software which is used to do a special and particular form of task. There are varieties of server like simple database server, simple file server, communication server, application server etc, all works for their respective tasks.

The maintenance of data as well as its storage and representation is done by server. If you want to start a website you need a server for your data, which you can take on rent of different capacities which is known as web hosting.

Use of Server today -

Today, a whatsapp message, a skype video call, a phone call everything is done through a server, which is the backbone of the internet. There are millions of servers in the world, all are working 24 hours to serve the data to the audience without fail in most of the cases however sometimes it might fail but most of it runs efficiently and always will.
