Whatsapp will not be working on these phones : Things you should know

Last week, whatsapp messenger updated its mobile device support page. The famous messaging company declared the list of device, that will no longer have or will loose the support of whatsapp in the near future, as it had declared in the beginning of this year. The company stated stated, ''These platforms don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend updating to a new ios version, or to a newer Android OS... ''.
So here is the list that you need to know -






1) Mobile phones running under the platform of Nokia S40 -

On December 31, 2018, all gadgets running on Nokia S40 platform will loose support of whatsapp. Accounts on these platforms can neither be re-verified or created once more.
Also, the platform of Nokia symbian S60 will also not be supported.

2) Android versions older than 2.3.2 -

For android 2.1 (Eclair) and and Android 2.2 (Froyo), Whatsapp messenger has stopped all the updated and there will be no further advances in these gadgets.

3) iPHONE 3GS/iOS 6 -

For iphones, the support of whatsapp messenger, has stopped for iphone 3GS and device running on iOS 6, and there will be no further updates on these platforms.






4) Blackberry OS and Blackberry 10 -

Users with smartphones running on Blackberry OS, Blackberry 10  and older platforms have lost the support and updates of Whatsapp messenger.
Whatspp support for devices Blackberry, which are powered by Android such as KEYone, KEY2, PRIV, continues.

5) Support for windows 8.0 phones and older - 

The whatsapp support for windows 8.0 and older devices has ended in January 2018. There will be no further updates on these phones. Also, Windows Phone 7 will not be supported.

Also, the iPHONES running on iOS 7, will stop getting support and updates after February 1, 2020.






6) Android Gingerbread - 

The phones running on android 2.3.7 (Gingerbread) will get the support and updates from whatsapp till February 1, 2020, which will not be continued further.

Also, the users of the above listed platform will no longer be able to transfer their chat history to other devices.

So, if you are using any of these platforms, well, it is time to update your device, sooner or later, it will be necessary.
